The Owens-Thomas House-
A Haunted Mansion on Oglethorpe Square

Designed by noted English architect William Jay, this house was built for cotton merchant and banker Richard Richardson and completed in 1819. In 1825 the Marquis de LaFayette stayed at the house for a few days. see map of some Savannah hauntings

At least one resident of the Oglethorpe Square mansion is believed to still inhabit the premises. Miss Margret Thomas, granddaughter of Congressman George Owens, has been reported as still keeping an eye on the place. A number of incidents have been reported over the years. "I had the feeling he was a guest in the home and had just come in from outside, maybe from riding," one eyewitness reported to Savannah Spectres author Margaret Wayt DeBolt of an experience with another, male, presence in the house.
